Better Streets for Better Cities: A handbook for active street planning, design and management

With the end of the MORE project, carrying out its results and recommendations is crucial to the continuous improvement of streets across our cities. To accomplish this goal, project partners compiled them to create a thorough handbook, the Better Streets for Better Cities: A handbook for active street planning, design and management.

The handbook describes the challenges and opportunities, concepts and principles, and the policy and regulatory framework. In addition, it discusses the current user groups and patterns of street use and the future of streets. It finishes by exhibiting the street re-design process in the MORE cities and the key outputs and recommendations.

The handbook is a valuable document for practitioners, policymakers, cities, and everyone committed to engaging in creating better streets. To sparkle the interest and invite those who are not yet aware of the benefits and relevance of the MORE process and its holistic approach to street planning, the project also developed a Summary and Key Recommendations, that also includes the experiences, lessons learnt and tips from the MORE cities.
